The president of the Heritage Foundation — the conservative think tank that created Project 2025, the anti-Democratic blueprint for America’s future — says the United States is “in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the Left allows it to be.” Kevin Roberts appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast — absent Steve Bannon, who is serving four months in prison on charges of contempt of Congress — to tell the far-right audience they should be encouraged by recent events like the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on presidential immunity . Pete Buttigieg beats other possible Democratic replacements for Joe Biden in leaked poll

Image
While President Joe Biden says he will not drop out of the presidential race after his lackluster debate performance against former President Donald Trump, some social media users are saying that out gay Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg would be a good replacement. But such a move would be difficult and would come with risks. In a recent post on X, political observer and data scientist Armand Domalewski posted a table of percentages showing Buttigieg outperforming other possible Democratic replacements — like Vice President Harris, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer — in crucial swing states. The table came from a post-debate report leaked from Open Labs , the research arm of the Democratic super PAC Future Forward. Broomes of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas issued the third such ruling against the Department of Education’s rules, and it applies to Alaska, Kansas, Utah and Wyoming, as well as a Stillwater, Oklahoma, middle school where a student sued, and to the members of three anti-LGBTQ+ organizations that sued, including the extremist group Moms for Liberty. The House Subcommittee on Labor, Health, and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, which Republicans currently lead, approved a spending bill that would cut at least $419 million from federal AIDS programs. AIDS activists say this would have devastating impacts on the ongoing effort to decrease HIV by 2030. The bill also includes billions of dollars in cuts to other human services, such as education and health. Related House Democrats introduce resolution condemning Uganda’s “Kill the Gays” law Out Rep. Pro-LGBTQ+ laws boost queer people’s mental health

Across the United States, the amount of anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced to legislation has skyrocketed. The American Civil Liberties Union has tracked over 52o anti-LGBTQ+ bills this year alone. Studies have shown that these bills are more likely to harm the mental health of LGBTQ+ people, especially children. How queer parents can handle invasive questions about their families

Image
This is an excerpt from “The Queer Parent: Everything You Need to Know from Gay to Ze” – “The only guide you’ll ever need when it comes to the ins and outs of queer parenting” – by Lotte Jeffs & Stu Oakley, from Simon & Schuster . Let’s get ready for some BIG conversations. First up, as queer parents-to-be, we might find ourselves regularly having to talk to our own parents or friends about our intentions to start a family, and people expect a level of detail from us that heterosexual couples trying for a baby aren’t subjected to. You don’t get Aunty Carol asking her straight niece when she’s ovulating, but asking a lesbian going through IVF for the dates of her next treatment? Perfectly acceptable. For many of us, when we came out as gay or trans, our parents assumed this meant we’d never have children, so it might take certain people in your life a while to get their heads around your intentions. Even if they’re happy about it, their first reaction could come from a place

Over 40 attacks on LGBTQ+ symbols occurred in 21 states during Pride month

Attacks on rainbow flags, crosswalks, and other LGBTQ+ symbols occurred in over 40 cities nationwide during Pride Month, according to NBC News . Overall, the attacks occurred in 21 states; a majority occurred in blue states like California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington, but some also occurred in red states like Idaho, Montana, Texas, and West Virginia. While most of the theft and vandalism of these symbols seem to have been carried out by “lone wolf” individuals rather than coordinated by extremist groups, many local police, news reports, officials, and victims stated that this year’s number of attacks increased from previous years. The attacks have coincided with an increase in anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and legislation from Republicans and other conservatives.
